Description
Learn how to create Starbucks Caramel Brulée Sauce at home with this easy recipe.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Stir gently to combine, then bring to a boil over medium heat. Do not stir once it starts boiling.
- Allow the mixture to boil until it turns a deep amber color, about 8-10 minutes. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning.
- Once the desired color is reached, remove the saucepan from heat and carefully whisk in the heavy cream. The mixture will bubble up, so be cautious.
- Add the butter, vanilla extract, and salt to the saucepan. Stir until the butter is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Allow the sauce to cool slightly before transferring it to a jar or container. Let it cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for up to two weeks.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of cinnamon or a splash of bourbon to the sauce while cooking.
- This sauce can be drizzled over ice cream, pancakes, or used as a coffee flavoring for a homemade caramel latte.
