  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup baby bok choy, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1 package (12 ounces) frozen dumplings (pork, chicken, or vegetable)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and water, then add the soy sauce, sriracha, and sesame oil. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Add the chopped bok choy, sliced mushrooms, and julienned carrots to the pot. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Gently add the frozen dumplings to the soup and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Taste the soup and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and fresh cilantro if desired.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth and vegetable dumplings.
