Description

A deliciously simple recipe for a spiced pear and almond tart that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds (for topping)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch tart pan with removable bottom.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the sliced pears with lemon juice and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the almond flour, all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared tart pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Arrange the pear slices on top of the batter in a decorative pattern. Sprinkle the sliced almonds over the pears.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the tart is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing the tart from the pan.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of almond extract to the batter.
  • You can substitute the pears with apples or peaches for a different fruit variation.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert.
