A deliciously simple recipe for a spiced pear and almond tart that is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds (for topping)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch tart pan with removable bottom.
- In a medium bowl, toss the sliced pears with lemon juice and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the almond flour, all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tart pan and spread it evenly.
- Arrange the pear slices on top of the batter in a decorative pattern. Sprinkle the sliced almonds over the pears.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the tart is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing the tart from the pan.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of almond extract to the batter.
- You can substitute the pears with apples or peaches for a different fruit variation.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert.
