  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Pour the whole milk into a medium saucepan.
  2. Add the granulated sugar, cornstarch, salt, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon, stirring until well combined.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and continuously stir until the mixture thickens and reaches a gentle boil (about 5 to 7 minutes).
  4. Transfer the thickened mixture into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Allow it to cool at room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until fully set.
  6. Cut the firm milk mixture into squares or rectangles.
  7. Prepare a breading station with flour in one dish, whisked eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third.
  8. Coat each piece of chilled milk in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and roll in breadcrumbs.
  9. Heat about an inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  10. Fry the breaded pieces in batches until golden brown on all sides (about 2 to 3 minutes per side).
  11. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  12. Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy warm!
