Description
A delicious and flavorful recipe for Southwestern Maple Glazed Salmon, perfect for a quick and healthy meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lime, juiced
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or oven to 400°F. If using a grill, lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, lime juice, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Place the salmon fillets on a plate or in a shallow dish and pour the maple glaze over them, ensuring they are evenly coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes for the flavors to meld.
- If grilling, place the salmon skin-side down on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. If baking, place the fillets on a lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Once cooked, remove the salmon from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the glaze.
- Serve with a side of quinoa or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
