Description
Soft Matcha Chocolate Crinkle Cookies are delectable treats that combine the rich flavors of chocolate and matcha in a soft, chewy cookie.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, matcha powder, and cocoa powder until well combined.
- In a large bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. The dough will be thick.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to make it easier to handle.
- Once chilled, scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
- Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the dough before chilling.
- If you want a more intense matcha flavor, increase the matcha powder to 2 tablespoons.
