Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Nutella glaze:
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together until smooth and creamy. Add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked; they will firm up as they cool.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. For the Nutella glaze, combine Nutella, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Mix until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies.
  10. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
