A delightful and refreshing Snowy Shrimp Cocktail Ring, perfect for parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup cocktail sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
- 1 lemon, sliced into wedges
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
- Drain and immediately place the shrimp in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
- Once cooled, drain again and pat dry.
- In a small bowl, combine the cocktail sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using). Mix well and set aside.
- On a large serving platter, arrange the shredded lettuce in a circular shape to create a bed for the shrimp.
- Starting from the outer edge, layer the shrimp in a ring formation, overlapping slightly.
- Spoon the cocktail sauce mixture into the center of the shrimp ring.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges around the platter.
- Chill the shrimp cocktail ring in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.
Notes
- For a twist, try adding diced avocado or mango to the cocktail sauce for a fruity flavor.
- You can also substitute the shrimp with cooked crab meat for a different seafood experience.
