Description

A delicious recipe for Smoky Maple Beef Brisket with a fresh apple relish that combines sweet and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup beef stock
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 medium apples, chopped
  • 1/2 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Generously coat the brisket with the spice blend, ensuring every inch is covered.
  4. In a large baking dish, whisk together the maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard until well blended.
  5. Position the brisket in the dish with the fat side facing up and pour the sauce mixture over the top.
  6. Seal the dish tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the oven.
  7. Bake for 3 to 4 hours, or until the brisket is fork-tender and easily shreds.
  8. Meanwhile, prepare the fresh apple salsa by mixing the chopped apples, red onion, parsley, lemon juice, honey, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Stir until combined and set aside.
  9. After the brisket has finished cooking, take it out of the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
  10. Serve the tender brisket slices drizzled with the fresh apple salsa for a delightful contrast of flavors.

Notes

  • Let the brisket rest before slicing to retain its juices.
  • Adjust the seasoning of the apple salsa according to your taste.
