Description
A delicious recipe for smoked buffalo short ribs that are tender and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds beef short ribs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup buffalo sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F. If using a charcoal smoker, ensure you have enough wood chips (hickory or applewood work well) for flavor.
- In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the olive oil all over the short ribs, then generously apply the spice mixture to coat the meat evenly.
- Place the short ribs in the smoker and smoke for 4-5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F for tender meat.
- While the ribs are smoking, combine the buffalo sauce, honey, and apple cider vinegar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until well mixed and heated through, then remove from heat.
- When the ribs are done smoking, remove them from the smoker and brush generously with the buffalo sauce mixture.
- Wrap the ribs in aluminum foil and return them to the smoker for an additional 30 minutes to allow the sauce to set.
- Remove the ribs from the foil, brush with more buffalo sauce, and let them rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the cayenne pepper or add some chopped jalapeños to the buffalo sauce.
- If you prefer a sweeter flavor, substitute brown sugar for honey in the sauce.
