A rich and flavorful Smoked Brisket Bisque that combines tender smoked brisket with a creamy broth, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups smoked brisket, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic, diced carrots, and diced celery. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.
  3. Add the smoked paprika and cayenne pepper (if using) to the pot and stir well to combine. Cook for 1 minute to release the spices’ flavors.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Add the shredded smoked brisket and Worcestershire sauce to the pot. Stir well and let it simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and slowly stir in the heavy cream. Allow the bisque to heat through without boiling.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a thicker bisque, blend a portion of the soup with an immersion blender before adding the cream.
  • You can also substitute smoked turkey or chicken for the brisket for a lighter version.
