Description
A rich and flavorful Smoked Brisket Bisque that combines tender smoked brisket with a creamy broth, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups smoked brisket, shredded
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic, diced carrots, and diced celery. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.
- Add the smoked paprika and cayenne pepper (if using) to the pot and stir well to combine. Cook for 1 minute to release the spices’ flavors.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Add the shredded smoked brisket and Worcestershire sauce to the pot. Stir well and let it simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and slowly stir in the heavy cream. Allow the bisque to heat through without boiling.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a thicker bisque, blend a portion of the soup with an immersion blender before adding the cream.
- You can also substitute smoked turkey or chicken for the brisket for a lighter version.
