Sweet and Crunchy Slow Cooker Candied Nuts
Ingredients

- 2 cups mixed nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts, cashews)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, combine the mixed nuts, granulated sugar, butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg (if using). Stir until the nuts are well coated.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to ensure even coating and prevent burning.
- After 2 hours, spread the nuts onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Let them cool completely, which will allow them to harden.
- Once cooled, break apart any clusters and store the candied nuts in an airtight container at room temperature.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mixture before cooking.
- To make a chocolate version, melt 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and drizzle over the cooled nuts before storing.
