  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and let it heat up.
  2. In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss to coat the steak evenly and let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the marinated steak to the hot skillet in a single layer. Sear for about 2-3 minutes without stirring, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  5. Return the steak to the skillet, add the apple cider vinegar and water, and stir everything together. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through. Adjust seasoning with salt if needed.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
