Description

Delicious shrimp skewers glazed with Wagyu fat for an elevated BBQ experience.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Wagyu beef fat (or substitute with unsalted butter)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Wood or metal skewers (if using wood, soak in water for 30 minutes)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly and let marinate for 15-30 minutes.
  2. While the shrimp is marinating, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the Wagyu fat. Once melted, stir in the honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Mix well and remove from heat.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, about 4-5 shrimp per skewer.
  4. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  5. Brush the glaze over the shrimp during the last minute of cooking for added flavor.
  6. Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the marinade or glaze.
  • Substitute shrimp with chicken or vegetables like bell peppers and zucchini for a different twist on the skewers.
