Description
Delicious shrimp skewers glazed with Wagyu fat for an elevated BBQ experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup Wagyu beef fat (or substitute with unsalted butter)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Wood or metal skewers (if using wood, soak in water for 30 minutes)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly and let marinate for 15-30 minutes.
- While the shrimp is marinating, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the Wagyu fat. Once melted, stir in the honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Mix well and remove from heat.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, about 4-5 shrimp per skewer.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Brush the glaze over the shrimp during the last minute of cooking for added flavor.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the marinade or glaze.
- Substitute shrimp with chicken or vegetables like bell peppers and zucchini for a different twist on the skewers.
