Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sesame seeds until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of oil.
  5. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove pancakes from the skillet and keep warm while you repeat with the remaining batter.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try toasting the sesame seeds in a dry skillet for a few minutes before adding them to the batter.
  • Serve with honey or maple syrup for a sweet touch, or top with fresh fruit for a healthier option.
