Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces, season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and pour the orange sauce over the chicken and broccoli. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve the seared orange chicken and broccoli over cooked rice.

Notes

  • For added crunch, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top before serving.
  • Substitute the broccoli with snap peas or bell peppers for a different flavor and texture.
