Description
A simple and delicious recipe for seared orange chicken and broccoli, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces, season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and pour the orange sauce over the chicken and broccoli. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Serve the seared orange chicken and broccoli over cooked rice.
Notes
- For added crunch, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top before serving.
- Substitute the broccoli with snap peas or bell peppers for a different flavor and texture.
