Description

A delicious twist on cheesecake featuring creamy avocado and smoked salmon, perfect for a savory treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup chopped smoked salmon
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill (or 1 tablespoon dried dill)
  • 1/2 cup crushed crackers (like Ritz or saltines)
  • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mash the avocado until creamy, then mix in the softened cream cheese until the texture is smooth and homogenous.
  2. Stir in the chopped smoked salmon, sour cream, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and dill until everything is well incorporated.
  3. In another bowl, combine the crushed crackers with the melted butter, mixing until the crumbs are evenly coated. Press this mixture firmly into the base of a 9-inch springform pan to create a solid crust.
  4. Pour the creamy avocado and salmon mixture over the crust, spreading it out evenly with a spatula to ensure a smooth surface.
  5. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours, or overnight for optimal firmness.
  6. When ready to serve, gently release the sides of the springform pan. Cut into slices and, if desired, top with extra dill or lemon wedges for garnish.

Notes

  • For an added zing, mix in a teaspoon of sriracha or your favorite hot sauce into the avocado blend.
  • To enhance the meal, pair it with a fresh side salad or serve it on a bed of mixed greens.
