- 1 pound calamari rings, cleaned
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Juice of 2 lemons
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and let it heat for about 1 minute.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the calamari rings to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until they start to turn opaque.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle with oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, stirring until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
- Remove the skillet from heat and squeeze the juice of the lemons over the seafood. Add the lemon zest and chopped parsley, tossing everything to combine.
- Serve immediately with crusty bread or over a bed of rice or pasta.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider marinating the calamari and shrimp in olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking.
- You can also substitute the shrimp with scallops for a different seafood experience.
