Ingredients

  • 4 slices of rye bread
  • 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces of Brie cheese, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the slices of rye bread on a baking sheet and brush one side with olive oil.
  3. Toast the bread in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  5. On the toasted side of each slice, layer the Brie cheese and pear slices.
  6. Drizzle honey over the pear and cheese, then sprinkle with thyme, salt, and pepper.
  7. Return the topped toast to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
