- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, cleaned and halved
- 4 ounces bacon, chopped
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with the chopped bacon.
- Pour in the olive oil and maple syrup, then sprinkle with onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- Transfer the mixture onto the lined baking sheet, spreading it out evenly in a single layer.
- Roast in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through for even browning.
- Once tender and caramelized, and the bacon is crispy, remove from the oven.
- Drizzle with apple cider vinegar just before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, replace bacon with smoked paprika.
- Add chopped pecans or walnuts during the last 10 minutes of roasting for extra crunch.
