Delicious roasted Brussels sprouts glazed with maple syrup and crispy bacon.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, cleaned and halved
  • 4 ounces bacon, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with the chopped bacon.
  3. Pour in the olive oil and maple syrup, then sprinkle with onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Transfer the mixture onto the lined baking sheet, spreading it out evenly in a single layer.
  5. Roast in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through for even browning.
  6. Once tender and caramelized, and the bacon is crispy, remove from the oven.
  7. Drizzle with apple cider vinegar just before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, replace bacon with smoked paprika.
  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts during the last 10 minutes of roasting for extra crunch.
