These festive Reindeer Cookies are perfect for holiday gatherings and will delight both kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup pretzel twists (for antlers)
- 1 cup red M&M’s (for noses)
- 1 cup candy eyes (or chocolate chips)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Using a tablespoon, scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, decorate each cookie by pressing two pretzel twists into the top for antlers, a red M&M for the nose, and two candy eyes.
Notes
- For a chocolate variation, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with cocoa powder.
- You can also use different colored M&M’s for a fun twist or add sprinkles for extra holiday cheer.
