Description

These festive Reindeer Cookies are perfect for holiday gatherings and will delight both kids and adults alike.


Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pretzel twists (for antlers)
  • 1 cup red M&M’s (for noses)
  • 1 cup candy eyes (or chocolate chips)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Using a tablespoon, scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, decorate each cookie by pressing two pretzel twists into the top for antlers, a red M&M for the nose, and two candy eyes.

Notes

  • For a chocolate variation, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with cocoa powder.
  • You can also use different colored M&M’s for a fun twist or add sprinkles for extra holiday cheer.
