Description
Learn how to create beautiful and delicious Potato Roses with this easy recipe.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish (optional)
- Olive oil for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Wash and peel the potatoes, then slice them very thinly (about 1/8 inch thick) using a mandoline or sharp knife.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the potato slices and toss until they are evenly coated.
- Take a muffin tin and lightly grease it with olive oil. Start layering the potato slices in a spiral pattern, overlapping them slightly to create a rose shape. Fill each muffin cup with the potato roses.
- Drizzle a little olive oil on top of each rose for added flavor and crispiness.
- Cover the muffin tin with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before carefully removing the potato roses from the muffin tin. Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme if desired.
Notes
- For a cheesy variation, add shredded cheddar cheese between the layers of potato slices.
- To make it spicier, sprinkle some crushed red pepper flakes in the butter mixture before coating the potatoes.
