Description

Learn how to create beautiful and delicious Potato Roses with this easy recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish (optional)
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes, then slice them very thinly (about 1/8 inch thick) using a mandoline or sharp knife.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the potato slices and toss until they are evenly coated.
  4. Take a muffin tin and lightly grease it with olive oil. Start layering the potato slices in a spiral pattern, overlapping them slightly to create a rose shape. Fill each muffin cup with the potato roses.
  5. Drizzle a little olive oil on top of each rose for added flavor and crispiness.
  6. Cover the muffin tin with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  7. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before carefully removing the potato roses from the muffin tin. Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme if desired.

Notes

  • For a cheesy variation, add shredded cheddar cheese between the layers of potato slices.
  • To make it spicier, sprinkle some crushed red pepper flakes in the butter mixture before coating the potatoes.
