Description
A delightful and aromatic dessert made with layers of flaky pastry, filled with pistachios and flavored with rose water.
Ingredients

- 1 package of phyllo dough
- 2 cups of finely chopped pistachios
- 1 cup of melted butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of rose water
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the chopped pistachios with ground cinnamon.
- Layer half of the phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
- Spread the pistachio mixture evenly over the phyllo layers.
- Layer the remaining phyllo dough on top, again brushing each layer with melted butter.
- Cut the baklava into diamond shapes before baking.
- Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and rose water to make the syrup, and bring to a boil.
- Once the baklava is baked, pour the syrup over it while it’s still hot.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the phyllo dough is thawed properly before use.
- Adjust the amount of sugar in the syrup according to your taste.
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a bit of honey to the syrup.
