Description

Sizzling Beef and Crispy Potato Delight

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper (red or yellow), sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cut into thin strips
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by marinating the thinly sliced flank steak in a bowl with soy sauce and red wine vinegar for a minimum of 15 minutes to enhance the flavors.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef and stir-fry for approximately 3-4 minutes until it achieves a nice brown color. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  3. In the same skillet, toss in the sliced onion and bell pepper, stir-frying for about 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
  4. Introduce the minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, and season with salt and pepper, cooking for an additional minute to release the aromas.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet, mixing everything thoroughly, and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until the beef is fully cooked and heated through.
  6. Meanwhile, in a separate frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the potato strips and fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy, which should take about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Once done, drain the potatoes on paper towels and sprinkle with salt.
  8. To serve, layer the crispy fried potatoes on a plate and top them generously with the sizzling beef stir-fry. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired for an added touch of flavor.

Notes

  • Ensure the flank steak is sliced against the grain for tenderness.
  • Adjust the seasoning according to your taste preference.
  • Fresh cilantro adds a nice flavor but is optional.
