Description
A festive appetizer idea featuring creamy cheese and a hint of peppermint.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1/4 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes (packed in oil, drained)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 large flour tortilla (10-inch)
- 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, basil, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Lay the flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Starting from one edge, carefully roll the tortilla tightly into a log shape. Make sure to roll it evenly to keep the filling intact.
- Once rolled, wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- After chilling, remove the tortilla from the plastic wrap and use a sharp knife to slice it into 1-inch pinwheels.
- Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter and sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies on top for a festive touch.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture.
- Substitute the sun-dried tomatoes with roasted red peppers for a different flavor profile.
