Description

A festive appetizer idea featuring creamy cheese and a hint of peppermint.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes (packed in oil, drained)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 large flour tortilla (10-inch)
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, basil, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined and smooth.
  2. Lay the flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
  3. Starting from one edge, carefully roll the tortilla tightly into a log shape. Make sure to roll it evenly to keep the filling intact.
  4. Once rolled, wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. After chilling, remove the tortilla from the plastic wrap and use a sharp knife to slice it into 1-inch pinwheels.
  6. Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter and sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies on top for a festive touch.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture.
  • Substitute the sun-dried tomatoes with roasted red peppers for a different flavor profile.
