A delightful and festive dessert combining the flavors of peppermint and mocha in a classic tiramisu.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup peppermint schnapps
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the cooled brewed coffee and peppermint schnapps. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Continue to whip until the mixture is smooth and holds stiff peaks.
  3. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure not to soak them. Arrange half of the dipped ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of a 9×9-inch dish.
  4. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.
  5. Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers, dipping them in the coffee mixture and layering them on top of the mascarpone mixture. Finish with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  6. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  7. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies for garnish.

Notes

  • For a festive twist, try adding a few drops of peppermint extract to the mascarpone mixture for an extra minty flavor.
  • You can also substitute the peppermint schnapps with a splash of vanilla extract for a classic mocha flavor.
