Delicious paprika-infused lamb meatballs served with a creamy yogurt dip.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (for the dip)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (for the dip)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (for the dip)
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
- Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the meatballs. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
- While the meatballs are baking, prepare the yogurt dip by mixing together the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and dill (if using) in a medium bowl.
- Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving with the yogurt dip.
Notes
- For added flavor, try using different herbs like mint or cilantro in the meatball mixture.
- You can substitute ground beef or turkey for the lamb if preferred.
- For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
