  • Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Generously season the scallops with sea salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers invitingly.
  3. Carefully place the scallops in the skillet, ensuring they are not touching, and let them sear undisturbed for about 2-3 minutes until they develop a beautiful golden crust.
  4. Flip the scallops over and allow them to cook for another 2-3 minutes until they are firm and opaque. Once done, transfer them to a plate and keep warm.
  5. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the butter. Let it melt and bubble, stirring occasionally until it reaches a deep golden brown and emits a rich, nutty scent, which should take around 3-4 minutes.
  6. Stir in the chopped garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, being careful not to let it burn.
  7. Remove the skillet from the heat and mix in the lemon juice, creating a vibrant sauce.
  8. Gently return the scallops to the skillet, ensuring they are well-coated in the luscious browned butter sauce.
  9. Plate the scallops immediately, garnishing with fresh parsley and serving with lemon wedges on the side.
