Oven Fried Feta Rolls with Chili Honey are irresistible!


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 package (8 ounces) phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese, chopped spinach, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush it again with butter.
  4. Cut the layered phyllo dough into 3 equal strips. Place a tablespoon of the feta mixture at one end of each strip.
  5. Fold the sides of the phyllo over the filling and roll it up tightly to form a roll. Place the roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining phyllo and filling.
  6. Brush the tops of the rolls with any remaining melted butter. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. While the rolls are baking, prepare the chili honey by combining honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until warmed through and well combined.
  8. Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with the chili honey before serving.

  • For a vegetarian option, add finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes or olives to the feta mixture for extra flavor.
