Description
Oven-Baked Harissa-Spiced Chicken Wings are irresistible!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings, split at the joints and tips removed
- 3 tablespoons harissa paste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional for a touch of sweetness)
- Fresh cilantro or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet for better airflow.
- In a large bowl, combine the harissa paste, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and honey (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the spice mixture.
- Arrange the coated wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil the wings for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
- Try adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving for a zesty kick.
- You can also substitute harissa with your favorite hot sauce for a different flavor profile.
