Description

A decadent Molten Hot Chocolate Cake that melts in your mouth, perfect for chocolate lovers.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder, tapping out the excess.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture, stirring until smooth.
  5. Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins. Place them on a baking sheet for easier handling.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate. Let sit for a few seconds before lifting the ramekin off.
  9. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of espresso powder to the chocolate mixture.
  • You can also substitute dark chocolate chips for a more intense chocolate experience.
