Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until it turns a deep amber color.
- Remove from heat and carefully whisk in the butter, miso paste, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, heat the heavy cream until just simmering, then pour it over the chocolate chips.
- Let it sit for a minute, then stir until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Pour the miso caramel over the chocolate mixture and stir to combine.
- Pour the filling into the pre-made tart shell and smooth the top.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until set, then let cool before serving.
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, use dark chocolate with a higher cocoa content.
- Allow the tart to chill in the refrigerator for a few hours for the best texture.
- Garnish with sea salt or chocolate shavings for added presentation.
