Description
Delicious and festive Marshmallow Christmas Cornflake Wreaths perfect for the holiday season.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups cornflakes
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Green food coloring (optional)
- Red and green candy decorations (such as M&M’s or sprinkles)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows, stirring constantly until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt. If using, add a few drops of green food coloring to achieve your desired shade of green.
- Gently fold in the cornflakes until they are evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then grease your hands with a little butter or cooking spray. Take small handfuls of the mixture and shape them into wreaths, about 3 inches in diameter.
- Place the wreaths on a parchment-lined baking sheet. While still warm, decorate them with red and green candy decorations.
- Let the wreaths cool completely at room temperature until they harden, about 30 minutes.
Notes
- For a festive twist, try adding a sprinkle of edible glitter on top of the wreaths for extra sparkle.
- You can also substitute the cornflakes with rice cereal for a different texture.
