- 8 ounces of pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup of skim milk
- 1 cup of shredded reduced-fat Swiss cheese
- 4 ounces of turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup of chopped green onions
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and pre-bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and skim milk until well combined.
- Stir in the shredded Swiss cheese, crumbled turkey bacon, chopped green onions, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix until evenly distributed.
- Pour the egg mixture into the pre-baked pie crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute the turkey bacon with sautéed mushrooms or spinach.
- Add different vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini for extra flavor and nutrition.
