Light quiche Lorraine is a delicious and healthy dish!


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup of skim milk
  • 1 cup of shredded reduced-fat Swiss cheese
  • 4 ounces of turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup of chopped green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and pre-bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and skim milk until well combined.
  4. Stir in the shredded Swiss cheese, crumbled turkey bacon, chopped green onions, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the egg mixture into the pre-baked pie crust.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes
