Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the crushed gingerbread cookies and 1/4 cup of melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form the crust.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Fold in 1 cup of whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until smooth. Spread this mixture evenly over the gingerbread crust in the baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and milk until it thickens, about 2 minutes. Pour the pudding over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly.
- Top the chocolate pudding layer with the remaining whipped topping, smoothing it out to cover completely.
- Sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies, mini chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts (if using) over the whipped topping layer.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top for an extra festive touch.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results, to allow the layers to set.
