  • ½ cup coconut flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or coconut aminos for a keto-friendly option)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix the almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large mixing bowl until combined.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and blend in the warm water and olive oil.
  3. Slowly incorporate the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a cohesive dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for a few minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef, cooking until browned.
  7. Drain excess fat and mix in the soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, green onions, and season with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  8. After resting, divide the dough into 8 equal portions, roll each into a ball, and flatten into a disc about ¼ inch thick.
  9. Spoon a generous amount of the beef mixture into the center of each disc, fold the edges over the filling, and pinch to seal.
  10. Arrange the filled pockets in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper and steam over boiling water for 15-20 minutes.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
