  • 4 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 large lettuce leaves (for serving)
  • 1/4 cup tzatziki sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, crumbled feta cheese, diced tomato, red onion, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined; do not overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties to the skillet.
  4. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip them and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness, or longer if you prefer them well done.
  5. Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
