Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Italian Cheese Log that is perfect for parties or as a snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1/4 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes (packed in oil, drained)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (for rolling)
- Crackers or sliced baguette (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, basil, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Place a large piece of plastic wrap on a clean surface. Transfer the cheese mixture onto the plastic wrap and shape it into a log. Wrap the plastic tightly around the log and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Once the cheese log is firm, remove it from the refrigerator and unwrap it from the plastic wrap. Roll the log in the chopped walnuts or pecans until evenly coated.
- Slice the cheese log into rounds and serve with crackers or sliced baguette.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture.
- You can also substitute the sun-dried tomatoes with chopped olives for a different flavor profile.
