Description

Honey-Glazed Turkey Meatballs with Sage Butter delightfully elevate your dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped basil
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons tamari sauce
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, basil, egg, minced garlic, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball, and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. In a separate bowl, blend the honey and tamari sauce until smooth. Brush the meatballs with this glaze, reserving some for later.
  5. Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until fully cooked and golden. Halfway through, reapply the remaining glaze.
  6. While the meatballs bake, heat the avocado oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped sage and sauté for about a minute.
  7. Once the meatballs are done, toss them in the sage-infused butter until coated. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For an extra twist, consider adding finely chopped bell peppers or shredded carrots to the meatball mixture.
  • You can swap ground turkey for ground pork or a plant-based alternative for a different flavor profile.
