Description
Honey-Glazed Turkey Meatballs with Sage Butter delightfully elevate your dinner!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped basil
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons tamari sauce
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, finely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, basil, egg, minced garlic, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball, and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a separate bowl, blend the honey and tamari sauce until smooth. Brush the meatballs with this glaze, reserving some for later.
- Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until fully cooked and golden. Halfway through, reapply the remaining glaze.
- While the meatballs bake, heat the avocado oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped sage and sauté for about a minute.
- Once the meatballs are done, toss them in the sage-infused butter until coated. Serve warm.
Notes
- For an extra twist, consider adding finely chopped bell peppers or shredded carrots to the meatball mixture.
- You can swap ground turkey for ground pork or a plant-based alternative for a different flavor profile.
