- 2 cups whole milk

- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- Pinch of salt
- 4 large egg yolks
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Whisk sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan. Gradually add milk and cook over medium heat until thickened.
- Temper the egg yolks by whisking in hot milk, then cook for 2-3 minutes more until thick.
- Stir in butter and vanilla.
- Layer vanilla wafers, banana slices, and pudding in a dish.
- Chill for 4 hours or overnight before serving.
