  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, stir in the milk mixture, raisins, and sliced almonds. Cook over low heat for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is creamy and heated through.
  5. Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken slightly before serving.
