Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 cup guava juice
  • 1/4 cup honey (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the dried hibiscus flowers. Let steep for about 15 minutes.
  3. Strain the hibiscus tea into a pitcher, discarding the flowers.
  4. Stir in the guava juice and honey until well combined. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  5. Add the fresh mint leaves to the pitcher and gently muddle them with a spoon to release their flavor.
  6. Refrigerate the tea for at least 1 hour to chill.
  7. Serve over ice and garnish with additional mint leaves and lemon slices if desired.

Notes

  • For a sparkling twist, replace half of the water with sparkling water before serving.
