Description
Hawaiian Roll French Toast is a sweet and delightful breakfast or brunch dish made by soaking Hawaiian rolls in a mixture of eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and maple syrup, then cooking them to golden perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- Butter for cooking
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Start by cutting the Hawaiian rolls in half to make little sandwiches.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and maple syrup until well combined.
- Dip each roll half into the egg mixture, letting it soak for a moment so it absorbs the goodness.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and bubbling, add the soaked rolls, cooking until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar if you like, and maybe drizzle a little more maple syrup on top.
Notes
- This dish is perfect for breakfast or brunch.
- Optional to dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with extra maple syrup.
