Description

A delightful treat of hard-boiled quail eggs stuffed with a creamy tallow mixture, perfect for appetizers or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 quail eggs
  • 2 tablespoons beef tallow
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (such as chives or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the quail eggs and boil for 4 minutes.
  2. After 4 minutes, remove the eggs and place them in an ice bath for about 5 minutes to stop the cooking process.
  3. Once cooled, gently tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel the shells off carefully.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the beef tallow, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  5. Cut each peeled quail egg in half lengthwise and scoop out the yolk into the bowl with the tallow mixture.
  6. Mash the yolks into the tallow mixture until smooth.
  7. Spoon or pipe the filling back into the egg whites.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving for a refreshing treat.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a dash of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the filling mixture.
  • Substitute the beef tallow with avocado or coconut oil for a different flavor profile and texture.
