- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup almond flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the beef broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, baking powder, melted butter, eggs, and cheddar cheese (if using). Mix until a dough forms.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling mixture into the simmering beef mixture. Cover the skillet and let cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the dumplings are cooked through and fluffy.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired. Pair with pork rinds, celery sticks, or cucumber slices for a crunchy side.
Notes
- For added flavor, sauté some mushrooms with the onions.
- If you prefer a spicier dish, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some diced jalapeños to the beef mixture.
