Description
Deliciously grilled octopus tentacles coated in smoky butter, perfect for seafood lovers.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound octopus tentacles, cleaned
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the octopus tentacles and simmer for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until tender. Drain and let cool slightly.
- While the octopus is cooling, prepare the smoky butter. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, stir in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat and add the lemon juice. Set aside.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Brush the octopus tentacles with olive oil and season with additional salt and pepper if desired.
- Place the tentacles on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely charred and heated through.
- Remove the octopus from the grill and drizzle the smoky butter over the tentacles. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the smoky butter.
- Serve the grilled octopus over a bed of arugula or mixed greens for a fresh salad option.
