Description

A delicious and unique twist on the classic BLT salad, featuring grilled halloumi cheese as a bacon substitute.


Ingredients

  • 200g halloumi cheese
  • 4 slices of whole grain bread
  • 2 cups of mixed salad greens
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Slice the halloumi cheese into thick strips.
  3. Brush the halloumi with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Grill the halloumi for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Toast the whole grain bread slices on the grill until crispy.
  6. In a large bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, sliced tomato, and avocado.
  7. Spread mayonnaise on the toasted bread.
  8. Assemble the salad by placing the grilled halloumi on top of the greens and serving with the toasted bread.
