Description
A refreshing and zesty recipe for Green Tea, Lemon & Ginger Gummies that provide a delightful boost.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooled brewed green tea
- 1/2 cup agave nectar or brown rice syrup
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately 2 lemons)
- 2 tablespoons finely grated fresh ginger
- 4 tablespoons gelatin powder (or use agar-agar for a plant-based alternative)
- 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan salt
Instructions
- Begin by heating the brewed green tea in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the agave nectar (or brown rice syrup), lemon juice, grated ginger, and Himalayan salt until everything is well combined and the sweetener has dissolved.
- As the mixture warms, slowly sprinkle the gelatin powder into the liquid while whisking vigorously to avoid any lumps. Keep whisking until the gelatin is fully integrated and the mixture appears glossy and smooth.
- Take the saucepan off the heat and allow the mixture to cool for about 5 minutes, ensuring it doesn’t set too quickly.
- Carefully transfer the mixture into silicone molds designed for gummies or a lined baking dish for easy cutting later.
- Place the filled molds or dish in the refrigerator and let them chill for 2-3 hours, or until the chews are firm to the touch.
- Once they have set, gently pop the chews out of the molds or slice them into squares if using a dish. Store the chews in a sealed container in the fridge for freshness.
Notes
- Enhance the flavor by steeping fresh mint leaves in the green tea while it brews.
- For a unique twist, swap the lemon juice for lime juice, or add a few drops of lemon or ginger essential oils for an extra burst of flavor.
