Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef or lamb
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 pounds baby potatoes, halved
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix until cohesive.
  3. Shape the mixture into oval patties, about 1/2 inch thick, and arrange them on one side of the baking sheet.
  4. In another bowl, coat the halved baby potatoes with olive oil, paprika, thyme, and a sprinkle of salt.
  5. Spread the seasoned potatoes on the opposite side of the baking sheet, cut sides facing down.
  6. Lay lemon slices over both the meat patties and potatoes.
  7. Place the sheet pan in the oven and roast for 25-30 minutes until the meat is cooked and the potatoes are crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the dish before serving.
