A delightful Greek dessert made with honey, nuts, and a flaky pastry crust.
Ingredients

- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 cup almonds, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 package phyllo dough
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the chopped walnuts, almonds, cinnamon, and sugar.
- Layer the phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
- Spread the nut mixture evenly over the phyllo layers.
- Continue layering phyllo dough and butter until all ingredients are used.
- Cut the pie into diamond shapes before baking.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, combine honey and water, bringing to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
- Pour the honey syrup over the hot pie as soon as it comes out of the oven.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a splash of orange blossom water to the honey syrup.
- Serve with a dollop of Greek yogurt for added creaminess.
